Perché scrivo nei miei disegni?

Why do I write in my drawings?

Lorenzo Caia

I wrote this article because many of you have asked me why I write and draw together so here it is.

Know though, what I write, that will be part of another article!

“The art of writing and drawing finally meet, but why?”

I've never been a drawing person and that's it since high school when I put my hands on a blank sheet in my mind I had to both draw and write.

For me drawing without a bit of writing was incomplete and still is in fact I still love creating balances today, finding a balance that reinforces the extremes and emphasizes the subject of the drawing.

Firmly believing that the fundamental and purest part of the whole process of creating a work are the preparatory sketches because they enclose the essence of your idea on paper is a concept that I am still pursuing.

Of all the great artists of the past, if we look at their preparatory drawings, there is none where the will of the artist is not perceived, the essence itself.

For me that is the greatest and most important work and in your opinion?

My style is very sketchy because I want to privilege that phase, I want to capture that essence that all of us, having had an idea and writing it on a piece of paper, have felt or felt at least once.

Remember the famous light bulb that goes on in your head and think about the feeling. Here's that feeling you will find them hanging on a wall with a beautiful frame ready to talk.

To write or not to write that is just a very small detail, what you have to try to see is the big picture.

A light bulb in your mind will always turn on anyway.

Do you agree with me?

See you soon,

Lorenzo Caia.
