The Clepsydra – from the Greek klepsýdra, literally "water-stealer" – was the instrument with which ancient Egypt measured time before hands existed: a basin that, by emptying, counted the hours, used in courts to limit speeches, in battles to mark guard shifts, in rituals to pace the time of the gods.

I built this board as one studies a mechanism. In this ink art print, I have broken down the form into its axes of symmetry: the construction lines remain visible beneath the definitive mark, while the marginal notes record its measurements and genealogy. A perfect visual investigation for those seeking an archival aesthetic, where technical illustration becomes a reflection on the instruments of time.

Printed to order in my Florence studio and shipped within 3–5 business days.
