Frequently Asked Questions (FAQ)
Each work begins as an original ink drawing.
The questions below explain how those drawings become physical fine art prints, how Open and Limited Editions differ, and what to expect when choosing, receiving and caring for a work.
For details specific to an artwork "including available formats, paper, edition, price and availability" always refer to the individual product page.
The Works
What can I purchase from Lorenzo Caia?
I offer physical fine art prints made from my original ink drawings.
The current catalogue includes Open Editions, Limited Editions, curated sets of two or three works, and selected collaborative works.
Original drawings are not part of the standard offer at present. If original works are released in the future, their availability and individual conditions will be stated clearly on the relevant page.
Which sizes are available?
The available format depends on the type of work.
Open Editions are offered in A4 and A3.
Limited Editions are produced in A3.
Curated Sets may be available in A5, A4 or A3.
Collaborative Works are currently offered in A4 and A3 where specified.
The exact dimensions and available options are always shown on the individual product page.
Are the works sold framed?
No. Unless a product page explicitly states otherwise, prints are sold unframed.
Interior images and mockups are intended to show the scale and presence of the artwork in a space. Frames, furniture and other elements shown in those images are not included.
What paper and printing process do you use?
Paper and printing specifications can differ between products and editions.
For this reason, the exact support and production details are stated on each product page rather than applying the same technical description to every work.
Open & Limited Editions
What is an Open Edition?
An Open Edition is a physical fine art print that is not produced within a fixed numbered edition.
It offers an accessible way to enter the Contemporary Ink Archive while preserving the drawing, its details and the visual enquiry behind the original work.
Available formats and paper options are specified on each artwork page.
How do Limited Editions work?
Lorenzo Caia Limited Editions follow a two-edition system:
Studio /30
A maximum of 30 individually numbered copies.
Archive /20
A maximum of 20 individually numbered copies.
Once the declared number of copies belonging to an edition has been reached, no additional copies are added to that edition.
Each artwork page specifies the support, price, signature and numbering details, certificate and current availability of that particular release.
Do Limited Editions include a Certificate of Authenticity?
The Certificate of Authenticity belongs to the Limited Edition system.
The individual product page confirms exactly what accompanies each edition. Further information about numbering, provenance and the certificate can be found on the Limited Editions & Certificate of Authenticity page.
Curated Sets & Collaborations
What is the Private Gallery?
The Private Gallery brings together selected works as diptychs and triptychs.
These are not arbitrary bundles. Each set brings together works that share a visual, thematic or conceptual relationship and are intended to be observed as a composition.
Depending on the set, A5, A4 and A3 formats may be available. The works included and the available options are listed on the individual set page.
What are Collaborative Works?
Collaborative Works are artworks in which my ink drawing enters into dialogue with the work of another artist or creative practice.
Current collaborations are available in A4 and A3 where indicated.
A collaboration is not automatically a Limited Edition: its exact format, support and edition status are stated on its product page.
Prices & Payments
Why can prices differ between countries?
The store uses market-specific pricing rather than applying the same price or a simple currency conversion to every destination.
Italy, Europe, the United Kingdom and the United States may therefore display different product prices and currencies.
The price shown for your selected market is the current price applicable to that market. Shipping is calculated separately.
Which payment methods are available?
Available payment methods are shown at checkout and include major credit and debit cards, PayPal and supported accelerated payment options such as Apple Pay, Google Pay or Shop Pay where available.
Shipping & Delivery
Where do you ship?
I ship to the destinations currently enabled in the store.
Availability and the applicable shipping rate are confirmed during checkout according to the delivery country.
Are shipments tracked and insured?
Yes.
Every shipment is tracked and insured.
Once the parcel has been dispatched, tracking information is provided so that its journey can be followed.
Why is a telephone number required at checkout?
A telephone number is required for shipping so that the carrier can contact the recipient directly if assistance is needed during delivery.
This helps prevent failed deliveries and allows delivery issues to be resolved directly at the destination.
How much does shipping cost?
Shipping rates vary by destination.
The current rate is shown at checkout before payment. The dedicated Shipping & Returns page contains further information about shipping conditions.
Will I have to pay customs duties or import charges?
Orders shipped outside the European Union may be subject to customs duties, taxes or other local charges depending on the destination.
Where these charges are not collected during checkout, they remain subject to the rules of the destination country.
Damage, Returns & Care
What should I do if the artwork arrives damaged?
Please keep the packaging and photograph the outer parcel, shipping label, internal protection and the damaged artwork before discarding anything.
Contact me as soon as possible through the Contact page.
Because every shipment is insured, this documentation may be required to open a claim with the carrier. I will then confirm the appropriate solution according to the artwork, edition and available replacement options.
Can I return an artwork?
Return eligibility and time limits depend on the destination and the type of purchase.
The current Refund Policy applies to all orders. Please submit a return request before sending any artwork back.
How should I care for the print?
Handle the print with clean, dry hands and avoid prolonged direct sunlight, excessive humidity and sources of heat.
When framing, conservation-friendly materials can help protect the paper over time. Specific care instructions may also accompany works that require them.
Professional Projects
Can I select works for a studio, office or professional space?
Yes.
For professional spaces or projects involving several works, the Trade page provides a direct way to describe the space, number of works, destination and project requirements.
The artworks remain part of the same Lorenzo Caia catalogue. Trade is simply a different way of selecting and purchasing them for a professional project.
Contact
I still have a question. How can I contact you?
If something is not answered here, use the Contact page and include the artwork or edition you are asking about whenever possible.
I will reply with the information relevant to that specific work.
