Archive note N° AT-002.
I rendered this hourglass to examine what happens when we refuse the frantic pace of modern life and stop consuming time as a linear, breathless race. Surrounding the glass vessel, I mapped out the delicate technical geometry, angular axes, and historical notes on ancient clepsydras: a visual record of how human thought has sought to measure the passing hour. In capturing the dense crosshatching of the turned wooden pillars and the narrow, steady fall of sand from upper to lower chamber, I reflected on how slowing down is the only true way to give weight and substance to existence. The past anchors us with the depth of memory, the future opens a capacity for infinite possibility, and the present remains the sole tangible instant where pure intention hardens into reality.
A quiet invite to inhabit the present hour with intention.
